A fishy tale

To celebrate Brighton's heritage as a fishing village and to promote the great seafood in Brighton Marina, the festival theme to kick of the 2008 Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival 2008 is fish.

Rediscover the amazing catch the South Coast can provide, from Sea Bass to Crabs, to Shrimps to Lobster. Brighton will be demonstrating their dedication to local produce and fish, enter the oysters opening competition and trawl the fish market with its smoked salmon and sea bass.

There is so much more to the sea, so why not sample the market, feast on the fish and the world really is your oyster as you drink beer from the amazing bars on the front, listening to live bands as the sun shines down on docks.

Learn the heritage from the displays at the fishing museum or hire a boat to catch your own lunch. This really is a festival to sea!

Sparkles & Surprises complex special needs children's charity will be holding a Princess & Pirates event for kids at the same time... so walk the plank and uncover the buried treasure in Brighton Marina.
